They sold drugs and medicines for almost eight million kronor from apartments in Skövde and Halmstad. On Monday, the verdict came from a unanimous district court and two men in their 25s are sentenced to eight years in prison each.

I had demanded ten years in prison, says chamber prosecutor Sofia Karlsson to SVT Nyheter Väst.

According to the district court, the crimes have been committed between July 2016 and March 2020 and it concerns illegal drug and drug sales on the darknet in both Sweden and other parts of the world.

The district court sentences the men to eight years in prison and a payment obligation in the form of forfeiture of SEK 1,000,000 each. The district court agrees with its assessment.

I had applied for 10 years in prison each, and I think maybe it’s a little bit with eight years. The penalty value is higher, but on the whole I am quite happy with the verdict, says chamber prosecutor Sofia Karlsson.

It is that they must repay the criminal profits they have had in the business. I had demanded SEK 7.5 million, she says.

However, she understands that the district court sentenced the two men to pay two million kronor instead.

We have the legislation in order for it not to be an unreasonable burden for the convicted, the amount has been reduced by the district court. They were sentenced to eight years in prison.

The accused must remain in custody until the verdict becomes final.
